You can be an amazing youth player but if you don’t take the step up smoothly like the boys in the current group then you’re not proven. We can go through a list of the ‘next best things’ from our youth in the past eg kakuta, piazon, solanke! So far my assessment on Ampadu is slow on the ball, clumsy, passing ability so far hasn’t been great ie simple passes mess ups. On the face of it he hasn’t been great for us at first team level and hit the ground running like the rest have
