1. I wonder if we're deliberately not pressing for the full 90 mins because of the crazy schedule. Again on Sunday, our midfield rarely joined counter-attacks in the first half, indeed stopped running completely when our front 3 attacked. I wonder if we're conserving energy as we have games every midweek until the WC.

  2. Yep I think Jose was the victim of Bodgettinos bum boys…butt that's done. So Richarlison showboating is disrespectful but everyone that's ever scored a goal and ran around like a twT is just celebrating…I for one wanted to stuff JWPs air golf shot up his 18th hole especially after our 4th went in..more power to Richarlison I'd like to see that be his goal celebration when they surely come..

  3. With you brother on all of this. On the button as usual. I can do the sums in my loaf now and there was no nett spend of 150 million. Still holes in the boat re playing staff. We can all but pray we deliver something this season. 🍀🍀🍀🍀COYS

  4. I have never slept during a game under Contes reign with the exception of preseason, under Mourinho I fell asleep constantly it was brutal to watch Conte has a much better style. If we had a better rwb like carrasco we'd be flying. The windows been good but doesn't feel like it's enough.

  5. Slightly changing the subject, the usual Dickheads are starting to crawl out of the woodwork now on Twitter (Enic out) here we go again 🙄 yes I would love to see Levy gone but it’s not gonna happen. We had all those protests last season and where did it get you 🤷🏼‍♂️ absolutely nowhere

  6. Even though we started the season well, I still feel hollow, We have to win trophies and win most weeks to keep the fans happy. At least Contes football is a little bit better than Jose's football

  7. While it is similar to Mourinho, we are more prominent in the attack then under mourinho. Our XG numbers are higher per game than under Mourinho, but still defensively solid at the moment where under Mourinho it wasn't always the case.

  8. Gotta enumerate the ways in which I agree with you here, Harry

    1. Conte-ball. YES! 100%. I don't care if it's boring. I'll take the wins any day. Said the same about Mourinho. Sexy-ball is worthless without wins. Happy for Conte to figure out how to beat teams that press and sit deep.
    2. Son playing deep: I've noticed that from day 1. I've thought to myself he's looking more like a wingback than a winger on several occassions. But that's Conte-ball. Conte's said it himself: everyone defends and everyone attacks. It's about the team winning, not making Son (or us) happy.
    3. Richarlison juggling: non-event. Move on.
    4. Bentancur: yep, let's see some Bissouma instead. Competition for places and all that.
    5. Signing Romero: yes, great, but feels dissapointing at the same time – my first reaction was "well that's the end of the transfers, then". I thought we were deferring payment so we could sign others.
    6. Assessing our net spend: It's not even what grown-ups do, it's what kids studying the basics of economics do for their GCSEs.
    7. Rapidly scanning through the 4000 football london words for the 4 that matter has become one of my great talents. Like plucking a pound from a well filled toilet.
    8. PEH: genuinely can't understand where the Hoj-haters are coming from. Makes 100% no sense whatsoever. I suspect a bad batch of crack came in and got dished out free.
    9. Looking forward to the "Where did the warchest go?" video.

Thanks as ever Harry – sharp analysis.

  9. I don't really mind us not spending 150m as long as the money is still there next summer to spend, I think if we could of got bastoni we'd of still got the players we got + bastoni.

I'd rather keep our hands in our pocket and buy the right player than just go splurging cash about like we've done a few times in the not so distant past

  10. There's one thing to be positive and another to be deluded. Ignore the illusion of positive results so far we were garbage yet again and the result would have been a better reflection of the match 2-0 to Forest.
There are glaringly obvious problems with the squad.
Conte trying to cut and paste the same squad and tactics to fit every single situation and waiting way too long to change anything when it's obviously not working and our "midfield" constantly overrun as the other teams know all they have to do is pack the midfield.
It's like Conte is trying to repeatedly hammer square pegs into round holes.
We have zero midfield. Zero creativity. I'm sick of constantly playing on the back foot and relying on our front 3 to counter attack even against weaker teams where we should be bossing posession.
Forcing everything down the wings when the WBs are just not up to the task.
Hojberg constantly overrated when he is often bypassed so easily and can't pass for shit, he literally makes one decent forward pass every 2 games the rest of his passes are the safest 5-10 yards side and back over and over.
Him and Bentancur cannot keep playing together.
The new players are all upgrades and need to start playing.
Tbh Spurs have been extremely lucky so far rather than tactically successful.

  11. I don’t understand the mentality of being outraged by a couple of kick ups. I wouldn’t give a shit if any player of any team did it to us. I enjoy counter attacking football personally, just need to retain the ball better and beat the press better when transitioning otherwise it becomes awful. At least we’re clinical in our finishing to get the wins when it’s not working so well otherwise we’d be up shit creek without a paddle. Cheers H

  12. PEH for me is everything I don’t like in a footballer, he’s a white Sissoko and when you have no choice but to compare him with Carrick and Dembele then thems are the markers.

  13. We're going to infuriate a lot of teams, sit back and defend our goal well, then cut them to pieces with our counters with the best front 3 in the league, with Rich as well. What do they do about it? The only time it might not work is against teams like Chelsea, but it did work didn't it? Encouraging. I think Conte is making the best of what he has.

  14. What has changed from last season? I think teams at the start of the season are at it 100% but fatigue and injuries come into play as the season progresses.

Rodney Marsh and George best showboated, I dont care either way.

  15. 51 years supporting Spurs , never been easy, would love to see the skill and flare again. However winning is the thing, consistently winning, difficult to beat etc etc.
If trophies arrive in the cabinet I'm happy to play the Conte way week in week out.
14 years it's been a long time without.
    Keep it Tottenham

  16. When Diaz does little flicks and juggles the ball up the pitch it is pure skill, and gets "Ooh, aah" from Carragher. The man is a biased clown.

  17. Did people really believe Levy was going to give a manager free reign? Conte is holding himself back. I'm sure there is something in his contract restraining him. I keep hearing "A Great Window". It's such crap. Who have we bought that will walk into "Man City"? We need to benchmark with who we want to competing with. Levy doesn't want a League winning team. It is far too expensive. Players salaries go up. In fourth place. We get the Champions league Loot, without the expenses. I agree with Harry. Conte is just collecting a paycheck. Frankly I'm a Little disappointed.

  18. Harry big bucks are been spent at Chelsea Man U even West Ham got Parquet in at 50mill with add ons to make there team better. We are short creative Mid Need a CB. Conte can only do so much. Come to bite us soon.

  19. Agree with you 👍 Jamie caragher giving out about Richarlison ,caragher spits on young girls nuff said ,conte ball is scary but I think it depends on a bit of luck ,Forest missed a hell of a lot while Davies and dier looked gormless nothing to do with conte !!COYS

  20. Don't forget Harry "He's the reason that we're playing on Wednesday next season he came with his mate from Sweden, Rodrigo Bentancur " .🎤 Rodrigo is the type of player that does a lot of work that goes un-noticed . However I am hoping to see a bit more from him in terms of creativity if that's possible.

  21. I thought holberg would make way for bissouma , but I’m really hoping he plays alongside him tomorrow, slightly disagree with son only slightly about he’s position, he scored 23 goals last season no pens, and most of them was from January with conte, he has had opportunities every game, just needs to compose himself again, and not look over he’s shoulder at Richi, tomorrow will be hard make no mistake they be coming at us from the off, and if we not awake then we know what kind of watch it will be

  22. This is how Conte plays. I don't understand what people were expecting. Tight defence and strong counter attack. We've let in three goals – a somewhat flukey strike by Ward-Prowse, a complete fluke for the first Chelsea goal (he'll never score a goal like that again), and the Reece James goal was just evidence why we can't play 4 at the back. Other than that? Barely any strikes on target by the opposition. Wolves were just trying shots from distance, Chelsea only had three shots on target, and to be honest, Forest never really looked like scoring. Our goals? Counter attacks and set pieces. And that's how it is going to be under Conte.

And honestly – if it produces results? I am fine with it.
