  1. Michael Bridges – as in Aus based pundit, spurs fan – former Leeds UECL semi final player – played for england… Dead beat former footballers fc? Nahhh jokes – love Bridgey

  2. Never replaced Erickson is an never ending saga. We are going to struggle unless the aforementioned LoCelso starts to turn up . Gil may help but there are more performances required from most of the older crew. Love the blog as always. COY

  3. Gil is improving with each game for club and country. He looked decent in the Olympics final (was even impressed that he jumped on a plane and went straight into Spurs training afterwards). He does have end product, flair and a hunger for the ball – quite tenacious at times. I think he is learning fast and I believe he can integrate with the team during this season. Cup games to start and some PL cameos, but is Bergwijn better or should we have these two competing for a roles in the team?

  4. Ndomeble should have solved the playmaker issue (as per your Dembele and Eriksen point). The club are obviously still holding out for him to perform consistently but (as I think you've said yourself) 1. couldn't do it for Poch regularly, 2. couldn't do it for Mourinho regularly – so why would it happen for Nuno? I can't quite work out why somebody hasn't hauled him into a room and gone all "Don from Sexy Beast" on him. "Your name's Rowntree…"

  5. Docherty was basically binned off by Nuno at Wolves. Do not be surprised if he goes back to Wolves in the new year. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why we signed Lo Celso. He's been here now for how long and has done a huge amount of Fcuk all as far as I can see.

  6. Totally agree with tbh regarding le celso. The boy takes 5-6 games to hit form then gets injured, then buggers of to the national team, comes back looks lost, but guys can’t agree with anyone who says our transfer window was bad, we bought 2 expensive experience defenders who on paper should lead our back line for years to come and put some pressure on the diers and Sanchez of this world for the first time, we were in for many players and bid big for them if the rumours were true,we didn’t sell Kane , other teams didn’t sell to us, and we don’t exactly have a academy like Chelsea, so we bought young promising talent as well, yes we don’t have a Erickson replacement, but that’s the job of le celso, ndombele, they don’t always work out. But I’m happy with the window especially the guys that left, Our squad is fresher and younger, first window under the new team was good 7/10 for me

  7. Traore has no end product. He should be investing in someone helping him finish. The one thing I will say about Nuno is that the Wolves fans love him and most of the comments about him are positive. I really hope that Ndombele comes good, because he will be a great provider. I am a massive fan of Lo Celso.

  8. In a surprisingly well written piece on Ndombele by Dave Tickner on Football 365 we hear "And while it is not yet reflected in the scoreline, the most notable difference in the last two games against Wolves and Watford has been that Spurs have finished games far stronger than they started them. This rarely happened under Mourinho. They are in short a better organised and fitter side than last season, despite still possessing obvious flaws and weaknesses that three 1-0 wins shouldn’t mask." If we (reporters and fans) can see that Spurs are fitter, imagine what the players must feel. After Lloris' rant following Zagreb, I am holding to this hopeful trend as my touchstone for the start of the season.

  9. A future i would like to see at Tottenham is Bergwijn, Kulusevski, Isak, Gil and one or two more. Ianis Hagi perhaps… Ianis dad was "the shit" as they say if someone is very good when i visit NY. Another heriditary talend who is quite fantastic is Jordan Larsson..

  10. omg, we got a hint of a smile when you were talking about Gil. I did wonder if I was on the right channel for a second. Good straight stuff as always, look forward to your updates

  11. To add to my comment below, perhaps Skipp may eventually be the one to step up to the type of player Dembele was, but where would we play an Eriksen creative type, would it be in a 442/4321/433 ?

We have so much talent but no creators yet although Gil is looking something else albeit against U21 but it's promising!

  12. And this is why Kane is drifting about so much instead of being out and out striker, losing Dembele and Eriksen were the killer blows to us, neither have been replaced although Lo Celso and Ndombele may have been the should haves but they have not been anywhere near what the aforementioned were.

Would be lovely if both got in to it and started enjoying and expressing how they really can play rather than Ndombele being in no man's land and Lo Celso only seeming to be decent for his country over his club.
