The 4 books that leapt out from your shelves on first look were Stalin, Yorkshire, Hitler and Alan Sugar. If you could just add a Delia Smith cook book you'd have all of human evolution just a couple of feet apart…
Even our best current 11 would struggle against Rennes , i shudder to think what a second 11 will do .
The defense was shocking under Mourinho , because he put them under pressure , never missed an opportunity to publicly criticise them .
If Nuno thinks he can base his MF on Hojberg , Skipp and Winks , on his mentors Mourinhoball , then he also has no future at Spurs .
Levy employed NES to return Spurs to their DNA of attractive attacking football , and immediately starts a vendetta against the creative players , and fields THREE defensive MF's
Its only people who refuse to acknowledge the facts (as opposed to opinions) and the evidence provided over 2 decades that actually think the board of THFC actually care about winning things. Until these owners are gone, it will never be a priority.
Is this quote to newspaper or on his tinder profile 👏 😂😂
David Bentley – For me was one of those "nearly" players….
Joined Spurs, being labelled the "new beckham" went to his head. Played poorly, when picked (except hat one goal against Arsenal from long range). Ended up disappearing and retiring early.
Depressing, but it's the truth. We're looking at 6th or 7th with the current squad unless we do the unthinkable and buy players in the January transfer window. Nuno needs players who can help the 1st team now, not the future. I understand their thinking, bringing in potential superstars, but I'm kind of glad we're in this state because it highlights how big a job it's going to take to get anywhere near Leicester level, let alone top 4. ENIC OUT.
Winks=woeful
Rebuild is another word for we have some players who we hope will improve but we dont know
Can you explain the daily words on the light board? do the coloured letters mean anything?
Some guy called Townsend had a good game tonight and a great goal – picked up on a 'free transfer' – the name sounds familiar.
Talk about sticking the boot in, they have lost one game and you make it sound like 2 points from 8 games or something. Its Spurs, what do we expect? They flatter to deceive, fancy dans, all style and little substance, its always been that way. Thats why the successes however infrequent are so intoxicating COYS!
Just watched , Andros Townsend , score wonder goal, damary gray score ,combined transfer fee of 1.2 million, incredible how every manager comes here and says how talented our squad is, then they train, win the first few matches , and suddenly look awful, I can’t trust the team to win any game anymore, under the poch peak years we would know that we going to win today and turn it on, we knew if we conceded we would fight back, today we don’t have a corner taker, free kick specialist, I still say we have at least 6-7 players that can be very good, sad thing I saw Saturday was Kane walking off as if to say levy u should have let me go
Kane must be crying himself to sleep after that shower.Man city already in double figures scored without a recognised striker. If kane was there he'd be having a field day.Our lack of investment in the team is more and more evident.Loving the day dose of realisam.
Keep it up sir.
It feels like we called it in the summer (or before) – took to long to get a coach in, missed a lot of prep time for the season. It looks like all Nuno could do was try and park the bus and rely on our attacking players – it just about worked for 3 games. 4th game with tbf a reduced team available – it was looking like more of the same, but it only took one problem to bring down the house of cards. The problem is, we cannot just go for 1-0 in every match, we've got to start playing football, but how do you implement that mid-season?
Funny every other team buys players to go straight into the first team, we buy 4 players at ridiculous prices who aren't good enough but might be one day
Terrible golf analogy…😂
I much prefer 10 mind of cold hard truth each day than hours of cloud cuckoo land elsewhere, please keep this up
Just my opinion , Levy is to blame for the poor performances of Spurs on the pitch since scraping through to the champions league final. If he had funded Pochettino like he did Mourinho Spurs still would be top 4 challengers. Who in their right mind would sack a manager who had turned most of his previous Southampton players into international players sold for top money to top teams and then turned half of the Spurs team he was ''given'' or inherited into England players i.e. Dier ,Deli, winksy, Danny rose, Kieran Tripper , all now not picked for England . Pochettino picked his team to his players strengths , he didn't ask them to play to ''his way '' first as in Mourinho's case. i.e. work your ass off or one mistake and your dropped . He rarely started Dier at c.b. rarely started Son encouraged Deli to play his creative flicks nutmegs and lobs.
Don't keep slating these or any other players who mostly are probably doing what their manager is demanding . I would guess most gifted creative players can not be as effective at breakneck speed ( remember a certain Glen Hoddle who was often overlooked for England because of his work rate when compared to Trevor brooking).
My guess is Levy has been made to bring in a director of football and leave them to work within a certain budget.
So , I do think/hope this is the start of a new project and think a little slack should be cut regarding a lot of these players not performing .
Romero went off without permission when he just joined the club, go figure why?
By the time we think about getting a great team together the stadium will need a rebuild 🙃
I'm afraid I'm late to the party on this video as everytime I open Youtube Alasdair Golds face appears on my feed for some reason and there's only so many TVs and Laptops in the house I can put my foot through. As usual spot on. Nothing to add.
"Tinder profile" OMG 🙂 It's not a rebuild anymore. An excavation is needed.
Last season was a REALITY CHECK. This season will be a REALITY HAMMER whereby reality keeps beating fans over the head again and again and again until none can offer any excuses to cover the fact that the vast majority of players are mediocre at best and offer nothing. What other teams continue to play their deadwood week in week out? They may have one team member they are forced to play. WE HAD FOUR (!) ON THE PITCH SATURDAY!!!!! FOUR!!!!!
Hate to bring Arsenal into this but arteta is getting a lot of hate for the amount of money they have spent. But he’s getting the players he wants not matter the price they spent. We had a shit load of links to players and you wonder who really was our number one targets
The thing about endless hope that never delivers, is it ends up crushing you under an intolerable weight of disappointment. I had hope at the end of the 2016/17 season that Spurs were 2 or 3 players away from actually making it over the line. One big push of investment, but Levy pissed away several transfer windows and now we are here.
My god its gloomy here….lol
Our aspiration to win trophies and return to top 4 will be next to impossible this season as we have not addressed our main issues in this transfer window, these were
Defenders
Midfielders
Stricker
We bought in a Romero who looks unfit, right back Royal looked ordinary, Gil seems to be talent for the future and Gollini as a long term replacement of Lloris.
Therefore, we have not addressed our problems as none of above players will be making an immediate impact and take us forward so this season will be more difficult year than last year.
We have not brought in a creative midfielder ( replacement of Erikson) and a back up striker for Kane. This is so frustrating.
Last year under Jose until Christmas we looked a formidable team and Kane and Son were delight to watch but I am afraid this year in September itself we are looking lost.
Hopefully, nuno will drop both Dele and Winks and try Leo and Tangungy ( have to sort out issues with him or terminate his contract) and thereafter we may see good results. Still apprehensive of consistent performance from Dier and Sánchez.
Let's be brutal, the dressing room is a sour sick toxic place, it has been since Potch left imo, the players haven't given/ don't want to give100% They just happy pulling huge wages, no pride.
We can't keep blaming manager after manager, it comes down to the 11 on the pitch at the end of the day, if only 4 players give a sh*t what hope have we got.
That is why we needed a clear out, stagnant water!
Coys.
Dele Ali peaked years ago and should have been shipped out last season. The only reason he is still flouncing around Hotspur Way doing finger tricks is Levy thought he had a £100m player on his hands and can't accept that he'd now be lucky to get £20m for him. Ndombele and LoCelso have been such huge disappointments we are left in this desperate situation of trying to reboot a Deli Ali still running on Windows 7
Your right about Nuno. I don't know if its his demeaner but both his before and after pressers for the Palace game were dreadful. He didn't seem to want to be there yet we were top of the league and he should have been proud. Surely as manager he sets the tone, so I don't get it. Has the "Croatian three" and other issue, injuries got to him. Not good when were only 6 games in.
I am sad. My heart is "keep it Tottenham" and has been for 60 years but I am getting worn out by our lack of ambition. Don't ENIC realise that if you kill the golden goose the gravy train stops. Or maybe they have an alternative gravy train in mind!! My head says we just arn't good enough for 7th let alone 4th. I really hope they prove me wrong.
I guess stats are important but you could use them to argue for or against, to strengthen or weaken any argument. The issue is Spurs we’re not part of the big four – because we simply don’t compete on number of other non-football related issues. Why for example have we not sold the stadium rights? Simple fact is what we’re asking for doesn’t match the success on the pitch. Why are we not successful on the pitch? Because we don’t buy top 4 personnel or enough of them. And when we have had the money we’ve bought the wrong ones. A good striker is just as effective as a good transfer window and at times Spurs have spent long periods with either of these.
Dele thrived so much under Poch because he didn’t have any of the responsibility of playing a 10, now he has to and he can’t do it because he never leaned those skills.
Do you think Dele's capitulation coincides with Eriksen's loss of form/drive and eventual sale?
A professional football manager main job is to formulate a game plan to beat the opponent, his job is NOT to coach a footballer how and when to pass or shoot! If the player requires that coaching then he isn’t fit for purpose!!
Dele is finished, he is the kid in a park who make up numbers when he isn’t that good. Footballing genius was right when he said he is only playing so that thfc can sell dele at a decent price because right now not even Yeovil town wouldnt buy him even on a free the way he is playing. Thfc pay me half the money dele is getting and I’ll get into shape and run around aimlessly however I have a sporting brain and vision so my running would be utilised better making world class movement and passes.
