1. Agree ! Absent media hysteria we’ve had an average window

Every year I get caught up in believing it will change only to realise that it never has

All whilst other so called lesser clubs spend more and more on the pitch

Almost can write the timeline of events over the next 9 months

Oh to be a spurs fan !! ( if only I’d chosen Man City all those years ago )

  2. Bang in with this analysis H! At this point I honestly don’t know why Levy & Smokin Joe are holding back on spending just a tad more and getting players that could make a huge difference in. Probably just the habit of a lifetime. Anyone that has paid even a tiny bit of attention to the working of the club during the 22y + of ENIC will know Dan the man is probably more focused on build Horel California, apartments, and knocking down Chick King etc. to make way for the N17 version of Wembley way, than he’ll ever be at actually building a truly competitive team in Lilywhite. He is incapable of changing at this stage.

Any optimism I had the actual football people had wrested control from the chairman has drained away by the small club repeat behaviour of the latter stages of the transfer window.

Over to you now Antonio. Would be nice if the football served up was more appealing, but we’ll have to settle for (hopefully) the continued steady accumulation of point.

    COYS

  3. Totally agree. Damp squib of a window. I want to know, what has Paraticci been told about his acquisitions ?
Has he acquired them with a sense that they can progress Tottenham ?………Not Conte's view, judging from the press conference earlier today !
So has he acquired them as part of Levy's ''Loan out to eventually sell at twice the acquisition price two years from now' policy ?……Sadly, seems likely.

  4. Conte ball is lifting us out of Nuno ball, notice we can cross the ball into the box this season? Little steps, little steps. Without a whole team change we can't really throw out that legacy play of low block and fast counter.

We need a play maker end of, wing backs aren't a golden bullet.

Declan rice we aren't going to be able to buy. Matheus Pereira that's one possiblity?

Hojbjerg is a defensive anchor, when he switched off West Ham started to spank us. He is just not a forward player. Pairing him with a similar Bissouma isn't probably the most effective tactic as Bissouma is a strong tackler and a more possession based ball winner, similar in other words. Our passing progressions are still terd.

Djed Spence we need to experiment with. Wings, Central Midfield, sod it. And start Richarlison, Son is allowed a day off.

Our deadwood I'd say at least they have been loaned out, just bad buys from a former buying team.

Lenglet less athletic and physical but ball distribution would be alot better. Playing it from the back his Sanchez is dicey he's not that type of player.

Conte has kept it real we are not great yet, but better than last season for sure and better than Jose/Nuno ball for sure. The pieces of the puzzle lead us into a certain way of winning it's dicey and we defend alot but it's not all gloom a doom yet.

  5. Have to chuckle. You're right. There are several clubs (notably Brighton) who somehow unearth genuine quality without breaking the bank. Love the calling out of the Toxic Positives; Lee Gunner calls their equivalent at his club the 'Top Gooners'. But Levy & Co clearly said 'up to 150 million' would be spent on transfers. It was obviously less. After the Champs League draw it really amazed me what people said. As if they couldn't remember our Conf League fiasco. I think the only real Conte influences we've seen are: 1. the buying of Perisic and 2. the doing of 'early' business to allow him a full pre-season. But, we are here and this is now so bring on the rest of the season and let's see if Spurs can find 2nd gear.

  6. We needed a quality right wingback more than a CM in my opinion. You can have two workmanlike CM if you have attacking quality in both wingback positions plus the front 3.

  7. Bang on. Those loanees are coming back in like the plastic filled wave of a tsunami. Still vastly short of creative quality. Romero turning into a part time patient which is concerning given his replacements. This team will struggle to compete in Europe. My distain for Levy remains. A pull out merchant with no plan of succession past Conte, Lloris, Son and Kane. Make the most of this passionate Italian period while it lasts. Turmoil beckons within 2 seasons.

  8. We're doing well on the table board but we're not playing well and will be found out as soon as we play a top team. To finish 4th is a long way off if we continue to play the way we are. Just look how we fell away in the 2nd half against West Ham. And as for Maddison, yes I want him and the way Leicester are playing I bet he can't wait to get away.

  9. Bissouma had a tricky first half with that booking and some shocking miss passes but I put that down to lack of game time and rustiness. But to be fair I thought he improved as the game wore on. Give him time

  10. Very disappointing end to transfer window “AGAIN” – typical Tottenham ! – yes we made some excellent signings early on – but, and it’s a big BUT ! – the two areas that have needed addressing for some time now have not been filled ! – Centre Half – apart from Romero, we have Sanchez, Dier, Davies – not good enough ! – creative midfielder needed desperately ! – Ericksen still not replaced ! – I hope these two areas don’t come back and bite us in the bum come season end ! ! – I see the same lame excuses about players we TRIED to sign before deadline end ! – pathetic – repeated at every deadline ! – are well – good luck – keep it Tottenham 🥲

  11. I was so looking forward to seeing Bissouma but so disappointed. Almost his every ball was either square or back , just like Winks.
The other area of main criticism is Spurs tendency to play the ball out from the back……………they just cant do that , at least not with Sanchez who is inept with the ball at his feet and it nearly cost them the match. Romero is a different proposition but it all looks a bit cumbersome

  12. I am really losing it with lloris , i think he is a liability his playin out from defence is heart attack stuff and as for putting that ball out to hoberg back on was ludicrous (he shouldve booted it way up the pitch if that was his idea) and cost us the game ,the players were a bit shell shocked , i cant understand why contr allows this type of goalkeeping , if we carry on like this “happy st totteringham day !”

  13. Haven’t seen Paratici on his phone lately. What happened to the 10 players for each position. Was Paratici previously on the phone to the local builder and council to build more flats?
