Fernando Torres

Liverpool > Chelsea

With Liverpool now failing in all areas Fernando Torres will want to start winning trophy’s and he knows that Liverpool FC is not the place, there were rumours of a Barcelona move however that will not happen now and he would never join Real Madrid.

Chelsea are successful and looking to build on that, With Drogba and Anelka at 30-31 years old they will be moving on within the next 2 years therefore Torres will take the mantle.

Approx Fee – £40 Million

Karim Benzema

Real Madrid > Manchester United

It is well known that Sir Alex is a fan of this young Frenchman and he showed promise at Lyon however has had a tough season in Madrid, one bad season in Madrid is normally the end and I expect the same result here. Man united need striker’s with Berbatov not performing and Owen injured invariably it rests on Rooney’s shoulders.

Approx Fee – £22 Million

Cesc Fabergas

Arsenal > Barcelona

If this does happen i would be shocked, Fabergas has publicly stated his desire for the move and when that happens you cannot stop it, it would be another fantastic signing following David Villa to the Nou Camp, as it happens he would join the other Spain Internationals such as Puyol, Pique, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Pedro.

Approx Fee – £40 Million

Wesley Sneijder

Inter Milan > Chelsea

I write this article pre WC final however regardless of this fact he has had a fantastic season and a great World cup campaign, he has matured in the talent that was showing promise in his Ajax days, Scoring Goals from all angles and distances including dead ball ability he has fast become hot property.

With a host of big clubs interested such as Manchester United, City & Chelsea he will have plenty of options.

There is of course a chance that he will stay with the European champions but when money talks players often move.

Approx Fee – £35 Million

Maicon

Inter Milan > Real Madrid

What a signing this would be. In my opinion Maicon is the best right back in the world, he has everything including goals. Although he has has had league and European success i suspect he will fancy a new challenge and following his former coach to Madrid which would mean Sergio Ramos moving into central defence should the move happen.

It is a glamour move and the Spanish league is a faster pace which will suit Maicon’s game.

Approx Fee – £25 Million

Edin Dzeko

Wolfsburg > Man City

With new manager Steve Mclaren at the helm he needs to funds to change this now faltering team, starting with the sale of Edin Dzeko, the tall striker is a goalscorer in the bundesliga but for fee involved it is risky. The Premier League tends to find players out and i feel it will happen to Dzeko.

We will see.

Chelsea and Arsenal met in the First Division of the Football League at Stamford Bridge for the first time on the 9th November, 1907 – 30 years after the stadium had first been opened for use by the London Athletic Club. Chelsea won 2.1 with both goals scored by George Hilsdon. Arsenal’s reply came from Charlie Satterthwaite.

George Hilsdon was the first player to score 100 goals for Chelsea and a weather vane modelled on him can still be seen at Stamford Bridge. Legend has it that Chelsea will suffer ‘great misfortune’ if it is ever removed, as it was during ground works in the late 1970’s when Chelsea were in financial and football decline. Hilsdon was the victim of a gas attack on the Western Front in WWI and never played professional football again, dying in 1941. His grave is unmarked.

This first match was watched by a then record crowd for England’s top division: 65,000. Arsenal were still known as and based at Woolwich Arsenal at the time but they had a huge away following for this match due to it also being the 66th birthday of King Edward VII. The munitions factory – where many of the workers who followed the club were based – was closed for the day, hence they were free to travel to West London.

In fact, Arsenal could have been more local rivals of Chelsea than Tottenham Hotspur. A local businessman – Henry Norris – had a significant role in the development of both clubs. Amassing a fortune from property Norris became a Director and then Chairman of Fulham. Another Edwardian businessman called Henry – Henry Augustus Mears – had acquired Stamford Bridge with a view to it becoming one of the finest venues for association football in the capital if not the whole country. He offered Norris the chance to move Fulham FC to the ground but Norris refused to pay the annual rent of some £1500 and so Mears created his own team – Chelsea FC – in 1905. Had Norris not been so careful with his money, there might not have been a Chelsea football club at all.

Five years later Norris, still Chairman of Fulham became a majority shareholder of Woolwich Arsenal which had gone into voluntary liquidation. Becoming Chairman of that London club too, Norris proposed merging them with Fulham to form a super-club. The move was blocked by the Football League and so Chelsea and Fulham remained local rivals rather than Chelsea and Arsenal.

This match between the two teams in 1907 was the first ever to be played by two London clubs in the First Division and so the first major ‘London derby.’ All subsequent league meetings between the two sides to date have been in the top tier of English football (the old First Division and now the Premier League).

Woolwich Arsenal got their revenge the following season with a 2.1 win on 28th November, 1908 – Chelsea’s goal coming from George Hilsdon again. The Gunners won on Chelsea turf in the season after that as well, before the first draw – 1.1 – in this league fixture on 15th February, 1913. This was the last time the two sides met before Woolwich Arsenal moved to Highbury and changed their name to Arsenal.

Indeed, after that win in their first meeting, Chelsea did not win the fixture again until 13th December, 1919 when they won 3.1 with goals from Robert McNeil, John Cock and Henry Ford in front of a huge post-war crowd of 60,000.

The fixture on 12th October, 1935 was played in front of another enormous crowd: 82,905, which was the second highest recorded attendance for an English league match. It finished in a 1.1 draw. Joseph Bambrick scored for Chelsea and Jack Crayston for Arsenal.

Arsenal’s record league win at Stamford Bridge came in front of 74,667 football fans on 29th November, 1930 – a 5.1 victory, with David Jack scoring a hat-trick as Arsenal moved closer to their first League Championship win and domination of English football in the 1930s. They scored five times again on 24th November, 1934 – in a 5.2 victory this time – with legendary Arsenal centre-forward Ted Drake scoring four of Arsenal’s goals. Drake would go on to manage Chelsea in 1952 and was largely responsible for changing their nickname from The Pensioners to The Blues.

The Gunners also scored five goals in a 5.3 win on 29th October, 2011 with Robin Van Persie scoring a hat-trick for the victors.

Chelsea’s largest win in the fixture came in a 6.0 win in the Premier League on 22nd March, 2014 which was also Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger’s 1000th game in charge. This is the highest number of goals Chelsea have scored against Arsenal in a league fixture at Stamford Bridge and also represented the biggest margin of victory by The Blues. Oscar scored two goals that day alongside one each from Samuel Eto’o, Andre Schurrle, Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah in front of an attendance of 41,614.

The sides are neck and neck in terms of wins in this fixture. In the years when Chelsea have gone on to win the League Title they have never lost at home to their rivals from North London, drawing the matches in the 1954/55 and 2004/05 seasons and winning each of them in 2005/06, 2009/10 and 2014/15.

For Arsenal, in the 13 seasons where they have finished as League Champions, they have only lost at Chelsea on two occasions (Chelsea were in the Second Division in the 1988/89 season so there was no fixture) – on 29th August, 1970 when Paddy Mulligan and John Hollins scored for Chelsea and Eddie Kelly got one back for Arsenal – and on 2nd February, 1991. Kerry Dixon and Graham Stuart scored for Chelsea that day with Alan Smith replying for Arsenal in front of a crowd of 29,094. This was the only league defeat of the season for George Graham’s Arsenal team and their first in 27 First Division matches, stretching back to a 2.0 loss at Luton Town on 21st April, 1990.

Up Chelsea FC! Up all Chelsea fans! It is time for us all Chelsea fans to arise and give our club the needed massive support that would ginger our players to win the 2009/2010 English premier league. You have always done your best to provide the encouragement and the support that have been the strong bone and booster which have propelled our great club to victory on various fronts.

You all know that we cannot make it if you do not lend your support, if you do not attend live matches to cheer our boys up and if you do not buy the souvenirs, jerseys, plaques, key holders, face caps, etc that would help generate income for our great club. Our alluta must be seen in all areas where the club needs our solidarity. Chelsea forever! That is by the way! Man. U and Arsenal FC are seriously in our pursuit in the league, with just few points separating us. That is where our duty comes in. Our coach, Carlo Ancelotti has done remarkably well this time around – you have been seeing the results, haven’t you? Did you not see what they did to Sunderland at the weekend? Only Tottenham Hotspur has surpassed that goal margin this season. I was afraid when the African Nations’ Cup Championship was about to commence in Angola; I thought that with the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel and Salomon Kalou going for national assignment we would be in a serious trouble, even my friends here have been telling me that Chelsea would certainly fall. Today, however, the ball game is entirely different- we are waxing stronger even in the absence of these guys – thanks to Roman Abramovich, Carlo Ancelotti, the seriousness of our boys, our sponsor (Samsung), our kit providers (Adidas) and your unflinching support. We shall surely get there again this year by the special grace of God.

We have not been doing badly. You still remember our records – League titles in 1954-55, 2004-05 and 2005-06; FA Cup in 1970, 1997, 2000, 2007 and 2009; League Cup in 1965, 1998, 2005 and 2007; FA Charity/FA Community shield in 1955, 2000, 2005 and 2009; Full Member Cup in 1986 and 1990; UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971 and 1998 and UEFA Super Cup in 1998 – that is no mean achievement. Arsenal – professional football club, also known as «The Gunners». Based in North London, this successful English football team is known as one of the leading clubs in England. Arsenal was founded in 1886 by the group of workers at the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory. In 1891 the Club turned professional and changed its name to Woolwich Arsenal; the club joined the Football League in 1893. They won their first major trophies thirty years later, which included five League Championship titles and two FA Cups. Arsenal set a UEFA Champions League record by going ten matches without conceding a goal in the season of 2005-2006.

In every football-playing country, there is a league system. The most competent clubs play in the top division league. The sport being the most popular one in the world, top-tier football leagues are watched by the crazy fans from all over the globe. In fact, the most exciting league matches find the highest number of viewers. These five leagues are as follows:

· Barclays Premier League

· Spanish League or La Liga

· Italian League or Serie A

Among these five leagues, Barclays Premier League is considered the most exciting one. A decade ago or so, Serie A was widely considered the most competitive league in the world. History of English League

Steven Pienaar has had to endure an injury prone season in the color of Everton F.C in the English top flight league. He is an attacking midfielder of repute, scoring crucial goals for the Toffees.

For sports fans visiting or living in London, there is one sport which stands head and shoulders above all others in the nation’s capital, and that’s football.

London has 13 professional football teams at present, with 5 of those teams competing at the top level in the English Premier League. Of these top flight teams, Arsenal and Chelsea hold the most prestige in terms of recent honours, but on their day Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Fulham are all capable of troubling even the best at their respective home grounds.

For visiting fans, getting to most of London’s football stadia is relatively straight forward given the city’s comprehensive public transport network. Of course, the ultimate football experience in London is to watch a game at the new 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium. The stadium is famed for its history, as well as the striking tall Arch that spans high above the stadium, which can be seen from across London. Some of the most important matches in the football calendar are played out at Wembley, so if you get the chance be sure to purchase a ticket.

A visit to London has much to offer, but as you can see it is far from complete without taking in the city’s favoured sport. But is important to plan your journey in advance if you wish to experience a football game on your visit, as match tickets to the top games – as well as the availability of the London hotels – can book up fast.

Stamford Bridge is set to play host to Stoke City, on Saturday, even as Chelsea look ahead to their third win in as many matches in the Premier League.

The champions are on a roll, with a half dozen goals scored, while conceding none, in each of the two matches they have played against West Brom Albion and Wigan Athletic, respectively.

While Chelsea are the only team to have registered victories in both their matches, Stoke City have lost both theirs, by an identical score-line of 2-1, to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

But against Spurs, Stoke were unlucky not to have drawn the match, after being denied a goal by referee Chris Foy.

A win in the Carling Cup against Shrewsbury should ensure that Stoke enter Saturday’s match in a positive mood.

Carlo Ancelotti would be wary of complacency setting in, after huge wins against weak rivals, and Chelsea would do well not to lose focus, as consecutive matches against Manchester City, Aston Villa and Arsenal loom in September.

Chelsea’s defence has been boosted with the return to match fitness of Alex and Cech, somewhat offsetting the team’s loss of Ricardo Carvalho.

Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda and Michael Essien will be key to Chelsea’s fortunes, this season.

Drogba’s four assists in the last game compensated for his not scoring any goals, himself.

While Kalou, Malouda and Anelka play a great supporting role, Drogba’s ball skills and goal scoring ability remain the icing on Chelsea’s Premiership cake in the baking.

Lampard has been effective, as ever, in midfield, without quite setting the stands on fire.

While Chelsea are unlikely to be tested unduly by their rivals in the next three games, they will be looking to maintain their slender lead, given that Manchester United have dropped a point.

Though, it is early days, yet.

Stoke City must be justifiably disappointed with the dismal start to their Premier League campaign.

Last week’s loss to Spurs will rankle, particularly. A goal denied, after it had crossed the line, brought back memories of Lampard’s denied goal against Germany in the World Cup, in South Africa.

While defence is Stoke’s strong suit, with plenty of choices, in Abdoulaye Faye, Ryan Shawcross, Robert Huth, Danny Collins and Danny Higginbotham, attack isn’t quite their forte.

And that was the reason, all of Stoke’s industry in the Spurs game did not quite convert into scoring opportunities.

Getting back to defence, thanks to their strength in this area, Stoke have managed to salvage draws in many away matches.

Matthew Etherington is a talented midfielder whose passing is crucial to Stoke’s effectiveness, upfield.

Rory Delap, Dean Whitehead and Glen Whelan are all midfielders who can be relied on to tackle hard.

In some bad news for Stoke, Mamaday Sidibie picked up an Achilles tendon injury, in the Spurs game, and that will keep him from turning up against Chelsea.

There’s consolation in the form of Kenwyne Jones and Jon Walters coming in to bolster the attack, alongside Ricardo Fueller.

The burly Jones is just what the doctor ordered for Stoke who were low in the away-goals department, last season, and the striker’s form could determine whether Stoke move up the table, this season.

As for Saturday’s match against Chelsea, Stoke are likely to have their plates too full, in defence, to worry a great deal about any other aspect of their game.
